On December 31, 2007 - American Industrial Partners Capital Fund IV, L.P. ("AIP") announced that it has acquired the Brooks Instrument division of Emerson Electric Co., a world-leading supplier of flow measurement and control devices to the low flow application market. AIP is a private equity investment firm that applies an operational approach to building and improving middle-market companies.

Introducing the SLA Series with New Advanced Features
Brooks Instrument has introduced new features on its SLA series mass flow meters and controllers. SLA stands for Smart Link Advantage, Brooks' premiere smart digital thermal mass flow platform. These products link to advanced service tools and offer the legacy S-Series RS-485 protocol and analog I/O. SLA delivers the advantage of digital bus protocols and advanced features. Some of these new features include:
  • Coplanar Valve Option: improves device-to-device repeatability and extends MFC turndown
  • Enhanced Temperature Stability: critical for ensuring process stability in environments with variable temperatures
  • Zero Drift Diagnostic: provides a high level of confidence that the process has not shifted
