Hatfield, Pennsylvania (October 21, 2005) — Emerson Process Management will present four papers on Brooks Instrument flow measurement and control applications at the upcoming ChemShow, November 1-3, 2005 at the Javitz Center in New York. Main topics and presenters include:
- Faster Time To Money - Reduce Scale-Up Time From Pilot Plant To Production. This paper will address the key flow control issues during catalyst research and how they are mitigated by advancements in flow control accuracy, stability, and reliability. It will also discuss the ramifications of pilot plant accuracy in the scale-up process.
- Presenter: Scott Amsbaugh
- Presentation date: Wednesday, November 2 @ 10:00 AM
- Process Yield And Quality Improvements Through More Accurate Dosing Of Very Low Flow Additives. This paper will discuss how the improvement in dosing of extremely low flow liquids and gases has dramatic effects on process yield and end product quality. Specifically, having a reliable and repeatable odorizing process using low flow Coriolis flow controllers enables Proctor & Gamble to minimize odorant usage and eliminate waste and rework while maximizing process throughput and quality.
- Presenter: Cor van Doorn
- Presentation date: Wednesday, November 2 @ 9:30 AM
- Advances In Modular Sampling Systems Brings Process Analytical Chemistry Into Real Time. This paper will discuss CPAC's primary role in the investigation of new measurement approaches based on the miniaturization of traditional instrumentation and the development of new sensors and non-traditional instruments based on fundamentally different sensing mechanisms (e.g. acoustic, thermal, and imaging technologies) not associated with traditional analytical chemistry techniques. In particular, the recent advances of the New Sensor Sampling Initiative (NeSSI) promise to dramatically improve process analytical chemistry as it relates to Oil & Petrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology, Materials & Chemical Processes and Food & Consumer Products.
- Presenter: Nigel Glover
- Presentation date: Tuesday, November 1 @ 11:00 AM
- New Coriolis Mass Flow Product Improves Catalyst Research. In the Chemical industry, catalyst research and subsequent ramp into production are critical for improvements in quality and cost position. This research requires accurate devices for process measurement and control at very low flow rates. Recent technology advances have brought about the availability of Coriolis-based measurement and control in these extremely low flow ranges.
- Presenter: Steven Kannengieszer
- Presentation date: Tuesday, November 1 @ 2:30 PM
In addition, Emerson's Steven Kannengieszer will conduct a presentation in the New Product Technology Theater on the Brooks QUANTIM low-flow Coriolis meter/controller. The presentation, "High Accuracy Chemical Addition With Low Flow Coriolis Flow Meters," will address the cost and productivity advantages of this breakthrough technology in critical low-flow applications.
Presentation date: Wednesday, November 2 @ 2:45 PM, in theater B.
