Emerson global users to exchange automation-driven strategies during
annual conference
Process manufacturers and Emerson experts to share ideas and practices
in weeklong program of forums, workshops and exhibits
AUSTIN, TEXAS (August 11, 2004) — The
2004
Emerson Global Users Exchange Conference will be held October 25-29 at
the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. The theme,
"Bringing the Best Together," sets the tone for the weeklong conference
where process manufacturers will share ideas, practices and proven solutions
with fellow users and Emerson experts in an intensive program of business
forums, workshops, short courses, and exhibits.
"With a focus on forward direction and technology, this year's conference
has an expanded scope that includes all Emerson Process Management
divisions," says John Gardner, executive sponsor-Emerson Exchange and senior
vice president of Process Systems and Solutions. "Attendees will hear from
their peers how Emerson's
PlantWeb digital plant technologies are providing breakthrough results
for manufacturers globally across all process industries."
The conference will feature over 200
workshops and 25
short courses plus keynote speakers, management roundtables, executive
sessions, and an expanded technology exhibit hall. Currently, nine
industry business forums are planned to include chemicals, refining and
petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals and life sciences, food/beverage and
consumer products, pulp and paper, oil and gas, power and utilities,
metals/mining/cement/glass, and contractors.
The full conference agenda is available at
www.EmersonExchange.org.
"Throughout the conference, attendees will explore experiences during
engineering, project management, integration and commissioning, operations
and improvement, and maintenance and sustaining phases of plant life," says
Gardner. "Users will discuss comprehensive strategies for automation and the
future viability of their plants."
Participants in previous Emerson Exchanges, such as Normand Raymond of
Fibermark,
describe the experience as "very exciting" and "highly informative." We
are sending more people to the next conference because there is more
valuable information than any one person can absorb," Raymond says.
An editor from a major industry trade journal stated in an editorial
about the conference, "There's a good chance you'll come back from it with
ideas that can increase your operation's productivity. Thus, you'll get a
solid return on your investment in time and money."
