Overview

This course is designed for process control engineers and programmers who need to develop Visual Basic applications that will access version 1.0 and 2.0 compliant OPC servers.

This 4-day course is for process control engineers that need to retrieve, change or monitor process data from an OPC (OLE for Process Control) server. The course will discuss the underlying basics of using OPC and the techniques that are necessary for a student to create a Visual Basic client application to access an OPC compliant server.

 

Prerequisites

Students must have had programming experience using Microsoft Visual Basic version 5.0 or later. Visual Basic will not be taught in this class.
