Basic Configuration of RS3TM

Overview

 

This course is directed primarily at process and control engineers/ managers who will be responsible for the configuration or maintenance of RS3. This course is prerequisite to “ADVANCED CONFIGURATION” and “MAINTENANCE “of RS3.

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Describe the hardware and software capabilities of the system
  • Implement and tune control loops
  • Implement contact and simple logic control schemes
  • Design and implement effective operator displays and alarms
  • Store and retrieve files on disks
  • Fully configure I/O blocks
  • Store and retrieve trends

Prerequisites

Course 7010 or Course 7009

 

Program Outline

The course is divided into five parts:

  • Continuous Loops and Alarm
    Configuration
  • Discrete Loops and Logic Function Configuration
  • Disk Operations and Trending
  • Graphics and I/O

Each day will be divided into theoretical and practical parts. During the practical part the delegates will apply the theory on specially designed simulation models. Apart from these workshops, it is also possible for the delegates to submit their own configuration in advance, which can be discussed and/or worked on during the course.

The number of participants will be limited to two people per console to ensure sufficient practical work for all concerned. A single workplace can be
assured for an additional fee.
