Overview

 

This course is for engineers and supervisory personnel responsible for the sizing, installation, and operation, of safety and relief valves.

This 4 day course is for engineers and other persons responsible for the selection, sizing, and application of control valves, actuators, and positioners. The course demonstrates how to match the valve and accessory to the process and to other equipment. Students who successfully complete this course should be able to:

  • select the proper valve characteristic for a given process;
  • decide on a suitable size and style of control valve for a given application;
  • decide on the best actuator and accessory for a valve.

Prerequisites

A basic understanding of materials and process or one/two years of experience in plant operation would be helpful, but not essential.
