Overview

 

This course is for Maintenance Technicians and supervisory personnel responsible for the operation and maintenance of safety and relief valves.

This 2 day course explains how safety and relief valves function and are maintained. The course employs lectures, demonstrations and hands-on workshop sessions and is intended for the Technician who installs and services these safety devices. Students who successfully complete this course should be able to:

  • Undertake and explain the importance of lapping valve nozzles and discs
  • Explain the operation of safety/relief valves
  • Understand the importance of record keeping
  • Explain the importance of correct adjustments and settings

Prerequisites

Some experience in valve maintenance, installation and operation would be helpful.
