Overview

 

This course is for engineers, technicians and others new to the process control field, who need to specify process instrumentation.

This 3 day course provides an introduction to process measurement and control, using a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on, involving the four basic process variables. Also included is basic loop tuning theory and practice. Students who complete this course will be able to:

  • explain the application and operation of controllers and transmitters used to measure process variables
  • determine which instruments are desirable for satisfactory system performance

Prerequisites

Some experience with process measurement and control would be helpful, but is not required.

  • Instrument Calibration Concepts
  • Final Control Elements. Control Valves and Actuators
  • Loop Tuning and Control
