Overview
PC-ControLab, Release 3 (2003) is a Windows® is a Windows®-based process control loop simulation
program, intended for use in process control training seminars and for self-study. It
demonstrates the behavior of various control strategies, including feedback, ratio,
cascade, feedforward, override, decoupling, and model-based control for dead-time
compensation. The effect of tuning changes, loop disturbances and typical controller
options can be explored. The realistic user interface resembles a typical process
operators workstation, hence requires a minimal amount of user learning.
The BUILDER program, furnished with PC-ControLAB, allows for user
creation of custom process models by graphically selecting, connecting and parameterizing
from a library of 20 different function blocks. Each process model can contain up to 48
function blocks.
