ISA Tech 1999 Chooses WhisperFlo® Trim Final Control System for Innovators Center MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA, August, 1999 . . . . . ISA TECH 1999, the international forum for advancing measurement and control technologies, has selected the Fisher WhisperFlo® valve noise abatement trim to be one of 30 featured products in its Innovators Center.
The Innovators Center, a featured area within the ISA TECH 1999 exhibit venue, highlights new technologies and products. An independent technical review committee made the Innovator Center selections, judging each product on its specific application, technology features, and ultimate benefit to industry users. Fisher’s WhisperFlo trim achieves up to a 40 dBA reduction in the noise level of a control valve operating under severe service conditions. Representing a new concept in multi-path, multistage, acoustic energy management, WhisperFlo trim surpasses the noise attenuation capability of conventional designs by 25 to 30 percent. The innovative trim design utilizes laser-machined discs which are stacked and permanently fused into a rigid cage assembly. The stack is precision honed to exacting dimensions and ready for immediate use within standard Fisher globe valve designs. Combining six key noise control techniques, WhisperFlo trim outperforms the noise control capabilities of conventional multi-hole trims and tortuous path designs.
