MARSHALLTOWN,
IOWA (October 12, 2004) – Emerson Process Management announces the Fisher® FIELDVUE® DVC2000
Series digital valve controller that brings the advantages of new
technologies to global users.
The DVC2000 series of instruments were developed following consultation
with customers so that their specific needs were met.
Designed in accordance with
NAMUR
standards IEC60534-6-1 and IEC60534-6-2, The DVC2000 can be mounted on
Fisher and other brand actuators, enabling the industry leading FIELDVUE
performance to be applied to a wide range of applications across all
industries. The superior
performance is made possible by a two stage, pre-amplifier design that
multiplies small changes in the pneumatic signal, and by the digital
tuning algorithm used to configure the instrument to suit the actuator.
Magnetic technology in the position feedback system improves DVC2000
reliability on linear and rotary valves.
Simplified instrument mounting is also a feature of the
linkage-less design, as is removal of the instrument from the valve,
should it be required for maintenance.
The low power liquid crystal display, along with pushbuttons, provides a
local user configuration interface that supports English, German, Italian,
Spanish, French, Chinese and Japanese languages.
The multi-language local interface is used to initiate a quick set up
routine that calibrates and tunes the instrument specifically to the
actuator on which it has been installed.
This helps ensure accurate and consistent performance.
The DVC2000 offers an option for an integrated position transmitter and
limit switches –versus requiring these be obtained and installed
separately – helping to simplify valve controller selection by reducing
the need for additional engineering and specification.
Truly capitalizing on the power of
digital technology, the DVC2000 also supports the FIELDVUE instrument’s
unique Performance Diagnostics capability.
The predictive intelligence from the valve controller powers
Emerson’s PlantWeb® digital plant architecture. While the control valve
is operating, critical valve performance information is available to
evaluate and make decisions regarding the health of the entire control
valve assembly. Information is
communicated via
AMS ValveLink® software or directly to the process automation system.

problems identified, avoiding unplanned shutdowns.
