Key
Component of Fisher FIELDVUE® Digital Valve Controller Wins
Grand Prize in International Powder Metallurgy Competition A key component of the Fisher FIELDVUE Digital Valve Controller garnered the Grand Prize in the Powder Metallurgy Design Competition sponsored yearly by the Metal Powder Industries Federation. The competition, which is open to powdered metal manufacturers around the world, recognizes outstanding applications of powder metallurgy technology. The award-winning FIELDVUE part, a housing for current-to-pneumatic conversion components, is produced by Advanced Materials Technologies, Pte. Ltd. of Singapore. Fisher partnered with Advanced Materials Technologies (AMT) to take advantage of the firms metal-injection molding expertise. The AMT injection molding process utilizes advanced metallurgical technology developed specifically to create parts having extremely complex geometric shapes. The AMT metal-injection molding technique produces a high quality piece that meets the stringent mechanical, structural, and alloy requirements that were established by the FIELDVUE design team. Additional advantages of the AMT process include a high-density product that offers increased strength for unsurpassed operating integrity and long service life. The AMT process also ensures that the finished molded parts are consistent in dimension and quality. The FIELDVUE Digital Valve Controller is a key, networked component of the innovative, proven PlantWeb® field-based architecture. As an intelligent field device, it collects, distributes, and uses information for process control, while its companion AMS ValveLink® software processes this field information to add asset management functionality, including diagnostics. Fisher Controls International LLC (www.gotofisher.com) is a global leader in the design, manufacture and application of final control systems.
