DLC3000 Series

DLC3000 Series instruments merge traditional level transmitter concepts with innovative microprocessor technology. The combination provides unprecedented insight into your processes and your level instruments. Three important functions are performed by DLC3000 Series digital level controllers:

  • Traditional level transmitter output by converting the rotary motion of a torque tube to a 4-20 mA output signal to the control system.
  • Automatic calibration and configuration utilizing the power of microprocessor technology.
  • Communication capability via the HART® communications protocol to provide instrument diagnostic information.

Here are some of the advantages realized with FIELDVUE® DLC3000 Series digital level controllers:

  • Simplified Setup and Calibration – Through the use of an electronic Setup Wizard, digital level controller start-up is straightforward and fast. Level and temperature alarms, specific gravity tables, calibration trim and trending are readily configurable. DLC3000 Series digital level controllers also support re-ranging without a fluid reference.
  • Responsive to Small Process Changes – Accurate high-gain analog-to-digital conversion enables measurement of small changes in the process variable. This allows DLC3000 Series instruments to be used in difficult liquid level, interface, or density applications. In addition, an input filter and output damping eliminate displacer-induced ripple in the output signal due to liquid turbulence.
  • Reduced Temperature Effects – An internal temperature sensor ensures that ambient temperature changes do not affect the performance of the instrument. With a temperature input signal (via HART protocol or RTD connected to the instrument), the digital level controller can automatically compensate for specific gravity changes due to temperature.
  • Rugged Construction – Mechanical safeguards designed into DLC3000 Series instruments permit them to withstand physical abuse often incurred during installation or in transport. The fully encapsulated printed wiring board resists the effects of vibration, temperature, and corrosive atmospheres.
  • Easy Maintenance – Field wiring connections are separated from the main electronics. This protects the electronics from any moisture brought into the housing by the field wiring. Modular construction allows easy component replacement in the field.
