| The principle is simple. Normally,
the instrument is mounted directly to the valve. However, the remote mounted solution uses a special termination
box attached to the base unit (in place of the position feedback potentiometer). This allows you to mount the base unit on a pipestand or wall. The feedback unit is then mounted to the control valve in the
traditional manner. Now, only the the feedback parts are mounted to the valve.
By installing the base unit in a safe location away from the
control valve, you can handle applications such as: |
 |
High Temperature
The feedback unit (mounted to the valve) is rated up to 125 deg. C (257 deg. F).
High Vibration The pipestand-mounted base unit keeps the I/P converter, pneumatic relay, and electronics
isolated.
Space Constraints The feedback unit has a small profile and enables the control valve to fit into tighter
spaces.
Nuclear The major instrument components (except for the feedback potentiometer) are isolated from
hazardous areas.
The remote mounted
digital valve controller is available with both HART®
and FOUNDATION™ fieldbus
communication protocols.
