Emerson announces new hygienic line of Micro Motion® Coriolis flowmeters

New Micro Motion H-Series flowmeters meet CIP and surface finish demands of pharmaceutical, biotech, food and beverage industries

Boulder, Colorado (November 3, 2003) -- Emerson Process Management today released Micro Motion® H-Series flowmeters, an all-hygienic line of Coriolis meters. Responding to needs from the pharmaceutical, biotech, food and beverage industries, Micro Motion H-Series meters are designed to be drainable, cleanable and have improved surface finishes. This line of meters meets stringent 3-A authorization, EHEDG (European Hygienic Equipment Design Group) certification and ASME Bioprocessing Equipment Standards requirements. The new Micro Motion H-Series meters add to the breadth and strength of Emerson's PlantWeb® digital plant architecture in these regulated industries.

Micro Motion H-Series meters are ideal for clean-in-place (CIP) and water-for-injectables (WFI) applications. They are available with an electro-polish option on the wetted surfaces to maintain greater purity and yields in bioreactor, fermenter and active ingredient separation applications.

The Micro Motion H-Series meters offer either integral transmitter mounting or easy four-wire remote transmitter mounting for simple installation. Micro Motion H-Series meters eliminate fluid conductivity limits and density assumptions often made with more traditional volumetric flowmeters, such as differential pressure/orifice, magnetic, positive displacement, turbine, and vortex. Because the Micro Motion H-Series meters require no flow conditioning or straight runs, no liners or electrodes and have no moving parts, there are no ongoing maintenance requirements or concerns over leaking, wear or calibration drift.

"The development of the Micro Motion H-Series hygienic line of Coriolis meters signals a heightened focus on the industries that require the highest standards for hygienic processing," explained Gene Shanahan, Micro Motion President.

The hygienic Micro Motion H-Series Coriolis flowmeters expand the industry and applications base of accurate, precise Coriolis measurement that powers Emerson's PlantWeb to improve manufacturing quality. Additionally, the online monitoring and diagnostics of Micro Motion H-Series meters provide predictive process and flowmeter health information that PlantWeb delivers to those running the plant, enabling more efficient scheduled and proactive maintenance.
