Emerson selected "Best Technology Provider" by chemical processorsCompany garners seven awards in first annual Chemical Processing Magazine "Readers' Choice Awards"AUSTIN, TEXAS, October 25, 2004 Emerson Process Management, an Emerson business (NYSE:EMR), has been named "Best Technology Provider" in seven product categories in Chemical Processing magazine's first annual "Readers' Choice Awards." Their survey of readers appears in the October 2004 issue.
Emerson's products are built on the company's PlantWeb® digital plant architecture, an automation solution that delivers asset management, process control and management execution through the use of intelligent FOUNDATION fieldbus and HART-enabled devices, standard network communications, and integrated modular software. "We asked readers to vote only in those categories in which they have firsthand experience with the technology in a production environment," said Diane Dierking, Chemical Processing senior editor. "Those who responded were given a blank form so every company had an equal chance to receive a nomination. Being named repeatedly and with such a high percentage rate is a singular achievement in itself." Emerson was ranked No. 1 by more than 50 percent of readers in two categories: flow instrumentation (63 percent) and pressure instrumentation (53 percent). Other categories in which Emerson ranked first included valves/actuators (44 percent), temperature instrumentation (40 percent), process automation systems (36 percent), level instrumentation (31 percent) and process analyzers (26 percent). "It is a true honor to be named by industry users as the best provider in so many categories. For many years we have focused on customer service coupled with leading technology like PlantWeb to create real business value for our customer," said John Berra, president of Emerson Process Management. "The Chemical Processing Reader's Choice survey tells us that Emerson is on target in our commitment to deliver what customers are seeking in process control products, solutions and services, and inspires us to strive to deliver even greater results."
