  Environmental Safety & Health

Even the most mundane of maintenance tasks in your plant requires diligence when it comes to safety. And during an outage or turnaround, when your property and people are most at risk, shouldn’t you have technicians on site who are trained above and beyond OSHA standards for personal and environmental safety?

That’s what you’ll get when you call Emerson’s Instrument & Valve Services.

We’re serious about safety. In fact, our Emergency Modification Rate (EMR) equivalent is the lowest in the entire Emerson worldwide organization.

From the seemingly mundane task to critical valve or instrument work during an outage service, when you contact us, our customer service associates completes a "Field Service Summary" with you or one of your staff, enabling us to assess environment, safety, and health risks before any technician is dispatched.

Our technicians arrive at your site on time, equipped with the proper tools, trained beyond required OSHA courses, and armed with the know-how to do the job safely. They’ll check all your instruments and valves in order to detect the under performers.

In addition to supplying the services needed to get you through your outage, our techs can assist you in building a maintenance history for all instrument and valve assets, especially critical valves, helping to reduce future risks. They can also share valve data (as contained in the VOC number) with your environmental manager after each visit. This critical information will help you manage your assets more efficiently while operating at a higher level of safety.

Our commitment to safety isn’t limited to our technicians—it runs deeply throughout our management structure. Our managers must also complete safety training, and they bear the responsibility for site safety performance. Additionally, there’s an environment, safety, and health (ESH) manager in every one of our regional offices, and all our Instrument & Valve Services sites must complete an annual ESH audit.
