Emerson Introduces Micro Motion® Low Flow Meters, Expanding Coriolis Measurement Range
Micro Motion LF-Series Coriolis flowmeters enable precise flow measurement as low as 1 gram per hour
BOULDER, COLORADO (Jan 31, 2005) – Emerson Process Management expands its Coriolis offerings with the
new Micro Motion® LF-Series product range designed for low flow applications. These new flowmeters provide
precise mass, volume, temperature, and density measurement for liquids and gases in a flow range of 0.01 kg/hr up to 28 kg/hr.
Adding to the use of Coriolis technology with PlantWeb® digital plant architecture, the LF-Series is the ideal solution for
customers seeking precision in extremely low flow rates of liquid or gas measurements, such as catalyst feeds, tinting, flavoring,
and fragrancing process applications.
With 15 registered patents, the Micro Motion LF-Series flowmeters provide customers a quick return on investment
for all low flow applications. Advantages include:
- Lowers maintenance costs by not needing recalibration for changing fluid conditions
- Improves quality and output by increasing the accuracy of measurements resulting in less waste
- Eases installation, measuring only 4 inches by 6 inches (100 x 150mm) in size, it is convenient to install in almost any location
- Offers complete process control through an option that includes an integrated control valve.
The Micro Motion LF-Series sensors and transmitters take advantage of exclusive, patented Micro Motion MVD™
multivariable digital signal processing technology to improve measurement performance and process consistency.
These sensors can be connected to either a Modbus host directly, or to a field mount, or DIN rail mount transmitter.
The Micro Motion LF-Series meter features integrated transmitter functionality with analog or frequency outputs and
options for Highway Addressable Remote Transducer (HART) digital communications. The Micro Motion LF-Series controller
also provides an integrated control valve along with the integrated transmitter functionality to provide complete process
control in one package.
