Flow Operating Principle: Curved Tube — Flow Calibration

Every Micro Motion sensor is factory calibrated to determine, and set, meter zero and calibration factors before shipment to the customer.

The meter zero accounts for any slight time delay between the pickoffs that may exist when there is no flow through the meter. Density calibration factors are determined (see section on Density Operating Principle). The flow calibration factor is determined and set by comparing the Delta-T generated by a known flow rate.

Points are then run at various flow rates against a flow reference to ensure the meter performs within specification for both flow and density measurement. This process serves as a final functional test of the Micro Motion sensor before shipment.
