Inlet works
The Inlet Works of a Wastewater treatment plant generally involves primary treatment of the process, such as screening of heavy solids, de-gritting and flow measurement to control the amount of influent passed through to the treatment process.

Primary settlement, Thickening & Digestion
The first stage of the process is to settle the heavy solids normally referred to as Primary Settlement. Control of this process normally involves monitoring sludge blanket levels and providing automatic control for de-sludging the Primary settlement tank.

Biological and Final effluent treatment
The second stage of treatment in the wastewater process involves biological treatment or in some case anaerobic digestion, prior to secondary settlement for the fine solids, before final discharge to the water course.
