Model 515 Power Supply

File Size = 153 KB
File Size = 183 KB
  • WEATHERPROOF ENCLOSURE for installation in a wide variety of environments.
  • DUAL SUPPLY CIRCUITRY to drive multiple transmitters with isolated power/signal lines.
  • 24/48 Vdc POWER provides a choice of supply voltage for application flexibility.
  • 200 mA LOAD CAPABILITY per supply section allows up to 10 blind, analog or LCD digital display two-wire transmitters to be powered.
FEATURES AND APPLICATIONS
The Rosemount Analytical Model 515 Power Supply may be used anywhere there is a need for +24 or +48 Vdc power to drive field transmitters, including two-wire transmitters for pressure, temperature, level, flow, pH, conductivity, ORP, dissolved oxygen and residual chlorine.

The Model 515 Power Supply provides either a single source of 48 Vdc at 200 mA, or two separate, electrically isolated sources of 24 Vdc at 200 mA each, by means of a dual secondary winding on the power transformer. The Model 515 can accept either 115 or 230 VAC input power; simply remove two jumpers and relocate one. Output voltage of either 24 or 48 Vdc is selected by installing a jumper in the W5 location.

The line power input is on Terminal Box 1 (TB1). For one or two transmitters, the 24Vdc is output on pins 1 and 2 of both TB2 and TB3. If the Model 515 is used only to power one transmitter, on TB2 and/or TB3, the pins 3 and 4 need to be jumpered. If a recorder is to be simulated, a 600 ohm resistor needs to be connected across pins 3 and 4. If the transmitter is to be AMS/HART compatible, a 250 ohm resistor needs to be connected across pins 3 and 4.

All components and circuitry are contained in a weatherproof, corrosion-resistant, molded ABS plastic enclosure. An accessory bracket is available to allow the Model 515 to be mounted to a wall, or a 2 inch diameter pipe or railing. Input wiring is brought in through a 3/4 inch conduit opening on the side of the enclosure. Output power and signal lines are wired through a 3/4 inch conduit opening on the bottom of the enclosure. All connections to the supply are by means of barrier type screw terminal strips.

A terminal box, Rosemount Analytical PN 2002188, is available for connecting up to ten transmitters to the Model 515. The terminal box is molded polyester resin has an easily removed, hinged cover attached to the body with internal hinges and secured with captive screws. A neoprene gasket, attached to the cover with oil resistant adhesive, seals the terminal box when it is closed.
