Emerson Introduces Rosemount® Analytical X-STREAM™ Gas Analyzers for Real-Time Process Improvements
Multi-technology, robust product line provides optimal performance in demanding applications
 |
SOLON, OH (March 28, 2006) – Emerson Process Management has introduced the Rosemount® Analytical
X-STREAM™ series of process gas analyzers. The X-STREAM analyzers offer single- and dual-channel
analysis utilizing infrared, ultraviolet and visible (NDIR/UV/VIS) photometry, paramagnetic and
electrochemical oxygen, and thermal conductivity sensor technologies. X-STREAM analyzers provide
real-time control to help customers fine-tune their processes for increased productivity and profitability.
"The X-STREAM products are a new generation of process gas analyzers from Emerson that promise optimal
performance in demanding applications with minimal installation and maintenance costs," said Mike Fersky,
process analyzers marketing manager for the Rosemount Analytical division of Emerson Process Management
in North America. "Various industries can benefit from X-STREAM analyzers. To experience new levels of
savings and efficiency, we encourage all process manufacturers to select this product line."
The X-STREAM products are also being introduced simultaneously in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Bernd
Thalmann, European process analyzers marketing manager for Emerson commented, "X-STREAM analyzers feature
extended ambient temperature ranges for all world areas and an alphanumeric display with multiple languages
selectable during run-time. This product line will improve the bottom-line of plants worldwide."
Some of the industries that can benefit from X-STREAM analyzers include petrochemical and chemical processing,
metallurgical production, hardening and heat treatment, natural gas production and distribution, safety
measurement for flammable mixtures, biotechnology, landfill applications, and flue gas analysis of boilers,
power plants, process furnaces and incinerators.
The X-STREAM analyzers will be available in three configurations:
General purpose X-STREAM – rack mountable or tabletop version
Field housing X-STREAM – NEMA 4X / IP66 version that can be purged/pressurized for installation in
hazardous areas
Flameproof X-STREAM – flameproof (explosion proof) version that can be installed in Class I, Zone 1,
Group IIB + H2 hazardous areas
The general purpose and field housing versions are being released today; the flameproof version will be
released in summer 2006.
X-STREAM Gas Analyzers feature:
User-friendly operator interface
Support for multiple languages
Solvent-resistant, corrosion-resistant and intrinsically safe measuring cells
Thermostatic control to measure lower sample gas concentrations and higher dew points
Separation of electronics and physical benches with a purge for handling corrosive and toxic gases
Analog and digital I/O, status signal relay outputs and serial interface with Modbus communication
