    Division: Process Analytic
    Location: Solon, OH

    Overview: Perform both routine and complex assignments in the general accounting functions of the Division to include analyzing, consolidating and interpreting financial data. Monitoring actual results against plans, forecasts and budgets.

    Major Responsibilities:
    1. Develops planning systems and procedures, gathers, compiles organize and documents relevant financial information
    2. Analyzes, consolidates and interprets financial data
    3. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for review by all levels of management
    4. Monitors actual results of financial data against plans, forecasts and budgets
    5. Consolidates a wide range of operating and financial projections for the development of both short term and long term business plans
    6. Responsible for providing complete, accurate and current cost and inventory information to management on a continuing basis
    7. Calculate accurate estimates of the amounts to be cleared for cost of sales and maintain operational control over the domestic cost systems in order to provide accurate and timely financial visibility to management
    8. Maintain financial control over inventories including the accurate costing of physical inventories for the Division
    9. Coordinate, prepare, and analyze the yearly cost revision and / or other cost revisions, as required, including the preparation of annual costing rates for the Division
    10. Develop and prepare monthly and quarterly inventory reports suitable as a basis for the establishment of Division inventory objectives and operating profit forecasts
    11. Work with IT to develop and enhance computerized cost accounting and inventory control systems
    Minimum Job Requirements:

    Education: BS / BA degree in accounting, finance or related area, MBA preferred.
    Experience:
    • Minimum two years experience in general or cost accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience with Oracle 11i
    Specific:
    • Thorough knowledge of accounting theories, practices, regulations and financial concepts relative to profitability and financial ratios.
    • Can effectively function in a matrix and team environment.
    • Strong analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Familiar with PC’s and Microsoft Office products.
    • Travel may be required.

    Principle Engineer (Mechanical Development)
    Division: Process Analytic
    Location: Solon, OH
    Date: Nov. 1, 2008

    Overview: Design and development of analyzer mechanical packaging and core physics. Synthesize cost effective designs from inputs from marketing that optimize analyzer core technology physics. Learn and understand core analysis physics and create designs to optimize performance, cost reliability, and ability to take a product full circle: from creative design synthesis to obsessing over performance improvement and validation. Must be able to balance between the overall product platform and the performance-critical physics.

    Major Responsibilities:
    1. Responsible for mechanical packaging and core physics design and design analysis with implementation from concept through production.
    2. Product responsibility.
    3. Responsible for product development including overall product functionality and component specification, part and assembly design and documentation, bill of materials and engineering change orders.
    4. Functionally check and test products to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
    5. Conduct and participate in internal and external design reviews.
    6. Develop products from marketing specifications through production release.
    7. Interface directly and effectively with other departments, remote team members, subcontractors, suppliers and customers.
    8. Perform administrative tasks such as developing schedules, monitoring and controlling project cost, monitoring changes/schedule impacts, identifying and resolving problems and general project coordination.
    Minimum Job Requirements:

    Education: BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Master’s degree a plus.
    Experience: Minimum of five years experience with complex product design in a mechanical design environment. Analytical and/or instrumentation experience highly preferred.

    Specific:
    • Strong competency with SolidWorks design environment.
    • CSA, ATEX hazardous area design background desirable.
    • Above average communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Hands on testing skills are critical. Candidate must be able to take his/her design in full circle from concept through design verification.
    • Working knowledge of PC’s, Microsoft Office products, CAD and engineering software programs.
    • Travel may be required.

    Commodity Manager / Strategic Buyer
    Division: Process Analytic
    Location: Solon, OH / Houston, TX / Nuevo Laredo, Mexico
    Date: Oct. 24, 2008

    Overview: Source, qualify and negotiate long term contracts with vendors for assigned commodities to obtain the most advantageous prices, quality and delivery to meet customer and manufacturing requirements. Provide procurement support to Development Engineering for new product development activities. Provide procedural direction to lower classified department personnel.

    Major Responsibilities:
    1. Develop and select qualified sources of supply and services.
    2. Negotiate contract prices, delivery, and conditions for the purchase of a variety of assigned commodities including products of a non-standard or technical nature.
    3. Maintain world-wide market knowledge of the commodities assigned and recommend sourcing and buying strategies based on that knowledge.
    4. Monitor and expedite purchase orders to insure delivery that meets customer and manufacturing requirements.
    5. Support other department functions by providing, as required, pricing data, lead-times, samples, catalogues, new designs and market trends.
    6. Confer with Quality Assurance, Development Engineering and Marketing to clarify specifications and assure an accurate understanding of the quality required.
    7. Establish and maintain rapport with critical suppliers to assure a high level of focus on total quality and cost effective small lot buys.
    8. Develop and document cost reductions and avoidance to maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.
    9. Participate, as assigned, and support corporate programs including MIN, Best Cost Country sourcing, Reverse Auctions, corporate negotiations, Inflation Model, Parts Analysis, and MRO buying.
    10. Assist tactical buyers with problem resolution and provide procedural guidance.
    11. Maintain working knowledge of current manufacturing techniques and costs in order to evaluate a supplier’s capabilities.
    12. Ability to create and present Commodity / project presentations to division and corporate management.
    Minimum Job Requirements:

    Education: Bachelors degree in supply chain or engineering or related field. MBA and CPM/ APICS certification a plus.
    Experience: Five years of Commodity Management/buying experience in a Mechanical commodity for a manufacturing environment.

    Specific:
    • Good understanding of purchasing functions, procedures and policies; how to source different commodities and services; explain material specs and drawings to suppliers.
    • Working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and costs.
    • Can effectively function in a matrix and team environment.
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle), PC’s, and Microsoft Office products.
    • Travel will be required.

    PlantWeb Technology Manager
    Division: Process Analytic
    Location: Solon, OH

    Overview: Plan, co-ordinate, control, direct and perform PlantWeb development projects to meet cost and schedule requirements. Serve as technical resource and leader for other engineers.


    Major Responsibilities:
    1. Thorough understanding of digital instrumentation and analyzer communications e.g. Fieldbus, HART, Wireless
    2. Develop/design PlantWeb products for combustion control and process analyzer instrumentation (in a team environment) based on sound engineering techniques and practical experience while meeting project cost objectives and schedules.
    3. Perform administrative tasks such as developing schedules, monitoring and controlling project costs, monitoring changes/schedule impacts, identifying and resolving problems and general project coordination.
    4. Identify and participate in strategic projects to improve quality and/or reduce costs of products or procedures.
    5. Plans and formulates engineering programs and organizes project staff.
    6. Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project, such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans and product testing in accordance with engineering disciplines of staff.
    7. Directs integration of technical activities and products.
    8. Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and releases.
    9. Works closely with PlantWeb technology leaders of the other Divisions and Industry groups to help support and drive RAI PlantWeb product offerings.


    Minimum Job Requirements:
    Education: BS degree in engineering (mechanical, software, chemical, electrical) Master’s degree preferred.
    Experience: Minimum of five years experience in engineering of controls, instrumentation, software or network communications.

    Specific:
    • Thorough knowledge of control strategies, instrumentation and control hardware and engineering procedures.
    • Strong gated process project management skills including managing remote teams.
    • Can effectively function in a matrix and team environment.
    • Above average communication and teamwork skills.
    • Working knowledge of PC’s, Microsoft Office products, software development tools.
    • Travel will be required.
