Rosemount Analytical launches the Model FCLi pH-independent free chlorine system for potable water. IRVINE, Calif., June 2005 - With the introduction of the Model FCLi, Rosemount Analytical, the industry leader in simplifying free chlorine measurements, has made the determination of free chlorine even easier. Typically, the reading from a free chlorine sensor depends on pH. Manufacturers overcome the pH dependence by using reagents to adjust pH or by calculating a correction factor from the measured pH. The FCLi does neither. Instead, the pH adjustment occurs inside the sensor, producing a reading that changes less than 5% per unit change in pH. The FCLi can measure free chlorine in water having pH as high as 10.0. The linear range of the sensor is 0 to 20 ppm (mg/L). The FCLi includes the sensor, the easy-to-use Rosemount Analytical 1055 analyzer, a constant head flow controller, and flow cell. Everything is mounted on a back plate, and the sensor is pre-wired to the analyzer. A Variopol quick-disconnect fitting makes replacing the sensor easy. Installation is simple: mount the back plate on a wall, bring in sample and power, and provide a drain. Sample flow is less than 2 gallons per hour, so the FCLi is ideal for locations where large volumes of wastewater cannot be tolerated. For customers who desire a pH measurement for monitoring purposes, the FCLi is available in a dual input (pH and free chlorine) version.
