The Instrument Toolkit Level Radar module is designed to assist in specifying the
correct radar gauge to meet your application requirements. The radar gauge
determines the level of a product in a tank by measuring the ullage (also called the
'outage'). The ullage, or vapor space, is the distance from the radar gauge mounting
location to the surface of the material. The level measurement is determined by
subtracting the ullage from the distance the radar gauge is mounted above the tank bottom.
If your application has proved to be problematic for other level technologies due to
changing density, dielectric, or conductivity, the Instrument Toolkit Level Radar module
will help you to specify and configure a Rosemount Radar gauge to meet your
application. The program will request that you input the application parameters and
will assist the you in determining a valid model number for the application.
Based on the model selected and the application data, the Instrument Toolkit will provide
you with an Instrument Specification Sheet and a Configuration Data Sheet.
The Level Radar gauge module uses exclusionary logic to limit the selection of
transmitters which meet the application requirements. The program will not allow you
to select a transmitter which does not meet the maximum working pressure or process
temperature limits.
