Transmitter-Sensor Matching
The Transmitter-Sensor matching feature of the Rosemount Model 3144P,
3244MV with FOUNDATION
fieldbus, and 644 Temperature Transmitters can reduce the error in a temperature point measurement
by over 75%.
Sensor Interchangeability error is one of the largest sources of error in a temperature
measurement. Rosemount's unique transmitter-sensor matching feature eliminates
sensor interchangeability error and greatly improves the overall accuracy of your
temperature measurement.
HOW?
All temperature transmitters, DCSs, and PLCs use ideal sensor curves to translate a
sensor's signal into a temperature. Since temperature sensors are never ideal, error
is introduced into the temperature measurement. At a process temperature of 300°C
(572°F), the Sensor Interchangeability Error for a platinum RTD is 1.8°C (3.24°F)!
Rosemount's temperature transmitters are the only transmitters on the market that can
eliminate sensor interchangeability error. By accepting Callendar-Van Dusen
constants, generated from a specific RTD's calibration data, the Model 3144,
3244MV with FOUNDATION
fieldbus, and 644 use the
real sensor curve to translate the sensor's signal into a temperature -- eliminating
sensor interchangeability error and significantly reducing the total measurement error!
