Emerson Process Management Provides Engineering Solution for Grassroots Plant.

Emerson Process Management contributed significantly to front end development for the Texas City plant. As the first to staff the project Emerson Process Management provided considerable input during site selection. Our experts evaluated four sites for such things as main process structures, piping and cable runs, safety and environmental issues, and future expansion considerations. They narrowed the sites from four to one and were able to demonstrate to marketing, engineering and plant management that the preferred site was economically feasible.

This analysis allowed plant management to finalize funding for the project. Once funding was approved, Emerson Process Management worked with the client, as well as other engineering contractors, in a collaborative approach to project execution.

Emerson Process Management provided detailed engineering and design for all mechanical, electrical and instrumentation work. At the peak of engineering Emerson Process Management had a staff of fifteen engineers developing drawings and specifications for this project.

Emerson Process Management' engineers then developed bid packages for its work and managed the bid process through contract award by the client. They acted as the client's advocate during construction and helped to ensure that the construction contractors were complying with their bids. Emerson Process Management also performed commissioning and startup of the new facility.
