General
Emerson provides
solutions and services that cover the full plant life cycle from
design/build to connectivity/integration to improving asset utilization and
production to sustaining and maintenance.
Emerson employs information technology professionals with significant
experience in the delivery of integrated systems for oil and gas,
hydrocarbon processing, power, chemicals, life sciences, pulp and paper,
food and beverage and other process industries. We have been consulting and
implementing solutions for our clients in the areas of automation,
information technology and enterprise integration for over 25 years.
Leveraging the strong foundation of the smart digital PlantWeb
architecture, we provide connectivity services for integrated enterprise
architectures, engineering management, production management and asset
management.
Consulting
and Concept Studies
When it comes to
improving business performance in real time, it is often the case that
companies do not have the necessary skills or resources to even specify what
systems and technology are required to be able to make the significant
business improvements they seek.
Emerson’s Manufacturing
Execution Systems (MES) team provides skilled consultants that will
come into your plant to supplement your own capabilities.
We will audit your current systems, consider your processes, people,
and business objectives and prepare a detailed report, which shows
performance improvement areas and the technologies, and systems that should
be applied to achieve quantifiable business results.
Emerson asks
their clients before beginning a project what data management objectives
they are trying to achieve. We
can help ensure the project plan is sound with minimal risk, within budget
and time constraints, and defined for safe implementation. These consulting services will help to ensure that our
clients achieve optimal process performance and maximize the return on
investments.
FEED
/ Detailed Engineering and Design
Emerson has detailed
core processes and complimentary in-house developed project tools for the
planning, front-end engineering, detailed design and engineering,
implementation, delivery, and completion stages of project implementation. These
processes provide Emerson teams worldwide with the consistency and quality
necessary for on-time, on-budget delivery to the client’s complete
satisfaction.
A
FEED study results in a well-defined scope for the rest of the project,
which in turn results in a more accurate estimate, lower contingency, and
typically lower overall
project costs. The effort and
upfront cost of the FEED delivers major benefits, as this is work that would
otherwise be done in the first 10-25% of detailed engineering. The resulting
“blue print” is further refined during the detailed design phase of the
project.
The schedule
is defined and the project planned from start to finish including resource
requirements and hardware procurement.
With project staff alignment, business drivers and constraints
defined, the project risk is identified and minimized. Business management can proceed with full disclosure of
opportunities to mitigate risk and/or project alternatives.
Implementation
Experience and expertise
are crucial for a successful project. Our global engineering process utilizes best engineering
practices and standards to ensure consistent implementation of data
management projects. As an
example of our experience, we have implemented millions of OSIsoft PI tags,
3000+ clients, and 350+ servers.

Global
After Sale Support
Emerson is financially
strong and continues to invest a significantly into R&D.
Emerson is also globally established including the after sale
infrastructure to support over 10,000 DeltaV process control system
installations. This
infrastructure includes data management, applications, and integration
solutions. Whether you need an
update, upgrade, or training, Emerson is there.
PlantWeb
For
those clients with Emerson’s smart digital PlantWeb architecture, PlantWeb
uses open communication standards to link field intelligence, systems, and
applications in a plant-wide network that delivers information when and
where it's needed.
Open, industry-proven communication standards let you select the best
components to meet your needs, integrate them with other plant and business
systems, and add more products or capabilities in the future.
What value is high-level management system's integration if the data it
is based on is flawed or unverified? Valid data is important because every
decision and every action is only as good as the information it's based on,
from basic to advanced control and optimization, from maintenance scheduling
to enterprise-level production planning.
With PlantWeb, those decisions and actions are based on validated
information that comes from the heart of your operation, the plant floor -
valves, instruments, pumps, motors, and process equipment. The plant floor data is integrated and analyzed into
actionable information by our systems and software.
Access
to information opens up many opportunities to run a plant more efficiently.
For example, a continuous production plant may take several days to come
back online after an unexpected shutdown, causing a significant financial
impact. Today’s intelligent instruments can report problems through the
