| FlareCheck
Flare & Vent Emission Estimation System To meet the 1997 Kyoto protocol,
countries must reduce flaring at oil and gas facilities to typically 90% of 1990
levels by 2010. To achieve this, hydrocarbon facilities must accurately estimate
flared gas and vented gas volumes. Kenonic's FlareCheck is a software tool that
helps industry comply with these regulations. FlareCheck estimates both fuel usage
of fuel-driven equipment, and flaring and venting, for each applicable point in
a facility. FlareCheck: - Supports defendable estimates
of flared and vented gas quantities
- Provides reasonable estimates for
unmetered fuel gas
- Provides results that are consistent throughout your
organization
- Frees users from computing complex gas calculations
-
Creates a permanent, saved record of your estimates
- Handles wet or dry
gas
- Uses AGA 8 for calculating for density, heating value, etc.
-
Exploits flow calculating engine from Kenonic's industry-recognized FlowCheck
software.
Calculations performed by FlareCheck include:
- Pressure and temperature corrected gas volumes for:
- Piping elements
(pipe, bends, reducers)
- Scrubbers and separators
- Partially-filled
liquid storage vessels
- Flow-through valve volumes for:
- Pilot and cover gas applications
- Pressure safety valves
-
Fuel estimates for:
- Natural gas powered engines
- Line heaters
-
Oil treatments
- Combustion estimates for:
- Products
of combustion
- Air/fuel ratio
