Total Solution Approach
Emerson’s depth of Pulp & Paper process experience enables engagement
with customers early in the project cycle to help assess and
prioritize process automation projects based on a mill’s operational constraints
and business objectives. Mill process
performance is optimized by first addressing any mechanical deficiencies, then
applying state of the art instrumentation and control technologies,
and finally installing process specific optimization and advanced
control strategies. All of this is combined into a turnkey solution
that is delivered on time with the lowest possible risk
and least possible impact to normal production.
Emerson offers a number of services and capabilities to help
Pulp & Paper customers move to a new performance level
in an efficient and cost effective manner:
- Mill Opportunity Surveys
- EnTech Variability Management Services
- System Lifecycle Planning
- Project Justification Development
- Project Financing Support
- Instrumentation and Control Standards Development
- Functional Specification Development
- Maintenance Procedures Development
- Personnel Training
- Operations
- Maintenance
- Engineering
Opportunity Mapping
Mill Opportunity Mapping is a service offering to help clients
quickly assess and prioritize automation improvement
opportunities. Survey engagements typically consists of a 1 to
2 day mill walk-through to collect key process data, benchmark,
identify improvement opportunities, and estimate economics of
process optimization. The deliverable is a concise document that
outlines and prioritizes opportunities for return on investment from
automation and optimization projects.
Emerson EnTech Services
Well known for variability management in the Pulp &
Paper industry, Emerson offers a number of EnTech
services to optimize mill performance.
In today's competitive industry, the EnTech Variability
Index (EVI) is an effective method to benchmark a paper
machine's performance against a database of hundreds of paper
machines in the industy. The EVI analyzes BW variability
and provides analysis of five bands from very fast to very
slow as well as the cumulative EVI. For each band and
the cumulative, the EVI compares the paper machine against the
best, worst, and average to date.
