ANALYZER SHELTER REVIEW
Koch Refinery Company - St. Paul, Minnesota

Emerson Process Management was selected by Koch to evaluate their analyzer system shelters. These systems had been installed using a number of different design considerations and the client wanted to establish a uniform specification for analyzer shelters. Emerson was asked to aid in the development of a shelter specification and to evaluate their current shelters from the standpoints of:

  • Personnel Safety
  • Electrical Classification for Hazardous Areas
  • Compliance with the National Electrical Code and Local Electrical Codes
  • Protection of the Analyzer Systems

Emerson was selected based on their experience in the design and fabrication of analyzer systems and shelters as well as their nationally recognized expertise for personnel safety and electrical area classification. The review has served as a guide in determining the need for upgrading or replacing some of the existing shelters.
