Refining Success Story

FUEL BLENDING PROJECTS

Mid-Continent Energy and Texan LP recently formed a consortium to market a process that essentially blends butane with gasoline at the delivery point (truck or pipeline.)

This consortium chose Emerson to engineer, fabricate, and supply a majority of the overall scope for this new blending process.

This project required the effort of several groups within Emerson. Following is a summary of our scope and the associated staff that participated:

  • Mechanical Engineering and Design incorporated the Consortium's process on a single skid format.
  • Electrical Engineering and Design integrated all of the skid-mounted components.
  • Procurement of all instrumentation required for the project. This included several Emerson Divisions (Fisher, MicroMotion, Rosemount and others.)
  • Fabrication of the blending skids at our FABCON shop in St. Louis.
  • Startup and Commissioning Services.

Emerson's ability to provide a "Turn-Key" solution was an important factor in winning this opportunity. Our unique set of capabilities is unmatched in this Industry. We can be the answer to any blending project and provide a scope of supply to the simplest or the most complex solution.
