Brief Description of Duties / Minimum Requirements: This position is located in Austin. Responsibilities include working directly with customers or Emerson Technical Support and development engineers on technical solutions to DeltaV applications. Occasional travel (6-8 trips/yr.) to customer sites or training assignment in Manila is possible. This position will provide inputs to Technology on the requirements of engineering tools and batch control based on investigation of field issues. This position will also be responsible for training other support engineers in the areas of DeltaV software applications.
Previous Experience/Skills:
- Minimum 5 years experience in industrial controls in batch processing.
- Must have experience either in operations or engineering around the plant
- Candidate must be a creative problem solver
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to interface with customers and other departments within Emerson Process Management
- Must be able work directly with end user resolving system issues on a running process
- Must have 4 years experience in working with control systems engineering, debugging, or operating batch processes
- Application software experience with industrial controls
- Prior knowledge of DeltaV control systems is desired
