Brief Description of Duties / Minimum Requirements: This position is located in Austin. The successful candidate will be part of the development team for the DeltaV Controller software product. The software will be written using C/C++ for execution in an embedded real-time environment. Software will be developed using object-oriented methodologies.
Responsibilities include:
- Software design in accordance with requirements and specifications,
- Code development, unit level testing, integration testing, and team leadership.
- Software support and maintenance of released Controller software.
The successful candidate:
- Must have experience and a strong understanding of embedded real-time development including an understanding of real-time operating system concepts and design issues.
- Must be well versed in object-oriented analysis, design, and implementation using C++.
- Must be willing to work in a small team environment.
- Will interface and coordinate development across multiple groups so good written and verbal communication skills are required.
The following additional experience is desired:
- Experience with the PowerPC family of microprocessors
- Experience with embedded integrated development environments
- An understanding of distributed control systems
BS Electrical/Computer Engineering, BS Computer Science plus 4 to 5 years of related experience.
