Contract Assignment Opportunity: (Contract) DeltaV/SIS Software Test Engineer

Requirements:
We have long term contract assignment opportunities of approximately six months each (with the possibility of extension), based in Austin, Texas. Responsibilities include testing DeltaV software, generating incident reports, writing and executing test cases from design specifications, installing and configuring test systems and validating resolved incidents.

Must be able to present ideas and issues found during testing to the development engineers, and establish the criticality of issues found. The applicant must be able to clearly summarize a given situation by identifying the most important issues.

Each candidate MUST have the following:

  1. DeltaV and/or similar process control system experience
  2. Experience in a test environment (validation, system test preferred).
  3. Must be willing to eventually locate in the greater Austin area. Can commute initially.
  4. Must have at least a 4 year engineering degree, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering preferred, Process Control. Master’s degree Ok but not needed.
  5. Must have a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience.
  6. Proven ability to learn and apply new technology
  7. Highly motivated, self starter, able to work independently and in interactive group environments.
  8. Excellent verbal and written skills. Able to clearly and succinctly describe an issue.
  9. Must be detail oriented, able to work in team environment
  10. Must have experience with Windows XP/Vista operating system and Microsoft Office applications.
  11. Some overtime; most work weeks are 40 ~ 55 hours, flexible work hours.
  12. Candidates should demonstrate one or more of the following:
    • Advanced Control is desired, but not required.
    • Process control knowledge highly desired, preferably in a plant environment
    • Batch experience is desired, but not required.
    • Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) strongly desired, but not required.
    • Professional Engineer
    • CFSE (Certified Functional Safety Expert)

Expected Assignment Duration:
The assignment length is anticipated to be 6 months, with an anticipated extension of 12 months or longer (extension will be based upon business needs at the time and individual’s job performance).

None anticipated

Employment agency:
The successful candidate for this temporary assignment at Emerson Process Management will be employed by a preferred staffing services provider for the duration of this assignment.

Employment Screening:

Start date:
ASAP after completion of required employment screening.
