Brief Description of Duties / Minimum Requirements: This position is located in Austin, Texas. Relocation assistance is available and occasional travel is required.
The successful candidate will be part of the Runtime Services development group for DeltaV products. Software will be developed using object-oriented methodologies, written in C++ and C#, and may execute in an embedded and/or workstation environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Software design in accordance with requirements and specifications
- Code development
- Unit testing
- Integration testing
- Problem resolution
- Additional responsibilities include software support and maintenance of released products.
The Runtime Services group has responsibility for software that includes categories such as DeltaV network communications, database development, OPC and other interfaces to the DeltaV system, and operating system abstraction. The successful candidate will work in one or more of these areas.
Candidate must be well-versed in object-oriented analysis, design, and implementation. Strong knowledge of and experience in C++ and/or C# is a requirement. Candidate must work well in a small team environment, and be able to interface and coordinate development efforts across multiple groups. Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
Experience with any of the following is also a plus:
- .NET, WCF
- Embedded development using real-time operating systems
- Distributed control systems
- SQL Server
- TCP, UDP, low level network protocols, network analyzers
Minimum Education Requirements: BS Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science plus 4 years of relevant experience
