Brief Description of Duties / Minimum Requirements: The successful Software Test Engineering Co-op/Intern's responsibilities include working under supervision of Team Lead/Mentor in projects supporting the DeltaV control system. Specific duties may include:
- Building test systems/jigs
- Developing automated test scripts and configurations
- Executing tests
- Evaluating test results
- Working with product development teams to resolve test findings
Testing scope covers both software and hardware implementation. The Software Test Engineering Co-op/Intern will become familiar with the different divisions of Emerson Process Management, working with those products as well as competitor products to make sure they fully integrate into the DeltaV control system. The Software Test Engineering Co-op/Intern will work closely with a Team Lead/Mentor, gaining and sharing product development knowledge and customer requirements.
Related work experience through internships is desirable but not required.
Requirements for success also include a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment; candidate must also be a self-starter, willing to learn new technologies and to apply them as appropriate; and excellent communication skills are a must
Intern/Co-op Education requirements: Current enrollment and 2 years of completed study in an accredited four year Engineering, Computer Science, or Industrial Technology degree program required. Prior related internships or other related work experience are not required but are desirable.
