Brief Description of Duties / Minimum Requirements: This position is located in Philadelphia, PA or Fairfield, CA and relocation assistance is available. Approximately a minimum of 50% (mostly domestic) travel is expected dependent upon project assignments.
Candidates with a minimum 2 years plant operation experience particularly in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing and solid software development experience with MES software applications and process automation solutions are preferred. Candidates need to excel in a fast paced and dynamic project execution environment.
Job Duties:
- Architect and lead the implementation of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and system integration solutions projects following Emerson Project Management Office Processes based on industry accepted GMP procedures.
- Design MES/ERP solutions for customer specific applications.
- Deliver Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and system integration solutions to clients primarily in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry
- Define functional requirements through client interviews and documentation analysis
- Develop detailed designs that meet client requirements
- Develop documentation required for validated facilities
- Provide leadership to implement and deliver overall MES and system integration solutions
- Define solution architecture that includes scope, sizing, system / operational requirements, integration/collaboration, project estimations and execution approach.
- Guide customers in defining optimal ERP interfaces.
- Work with an experienced team including sales engineers, consultants and software developers
- Have the ability to provide project execution leadership and mentor fellow project members
- Quickly learn new skills and technologies
- Work effectively at different levels within project teams, client organizations and sales
- Lead/Mentor/Develop junior engineers
- Have proven MES experience, one or more of the following systems preferred (DMI Syncade, Rockwell ProPack Data, Werum PAS-X, POMSnet)
Requirements:
- 6 plus years of experience with requirements analysis, design definition and implementation of software solutions above the manufacturing floor (emphasis in biotech/pharmaceutical sites preferred)
- 4 plus years of experience in a project leadership role
- 4 plus years experience with SAP implementation in manufacturing
- 4 plus years experience with integrating different plant floor / MES / ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- 2 plus years experience in FDA regulated industry; knowledge of cGMP, 21 CFR part11 and validation
- 2 plus years experience with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) package(s) (e.g. DMI Syncade (Compliance Suite), Rockwell ProPack Data, Werum PAS-X, POMSnet)
- Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
- Batch plant operation experience preferred
- Solid MES product knowledge or software development experience preferred
- Experience with software development using C#, C++ or VB.Net required; Web Services, ASP.Net and XML.
Education Requirements:
B.S.+14-16 yrs of related work experience, or B.S. Eng/Comp Science + minimum of 8-10 years of related work experience, or M.S. Eng/ Comp Science + minimum of 6-8 years of related work experience: CFSE cert preferred for SIS job
