Brief Description of Duties / Minimum Requirements: This position is located in Austin, TX and relocation assistance is not available. Approximately 10% travel is expected.

  • Translating networking requirements and datacenter offerings to the divisional application managers and IT Operations.
  • Solving problems and making sure the division has an identified root cause for issues.
  • Point of contact for any and all networking related questions or issues as they relate to Oracle support calls.
  • Managing documentation, preparing for meetings, coordinating with others, capturing notes, and following up on tasks from discussions.
  • Problem Triage, Investigation, Resolution and Communication.

  • Will have a strong working knowledge of office and data center networking infrastructures.
  • Must have an understanding of Cisco technologies including basic routing, switching, wireless, load balancing, firewalls, and fiber channel.
  • Must have experience with gathering application requirements and understanding and interpreting requirements specifications.
  • Experience in configuring Cisco equipment.
  • Proven history of successful problem solving with a sense of urgency.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present information to non-technical management and project teams.
  • Have solid analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience reading and translating data from monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Fluke Netflow Tracker, MRTG, etc.
  • Must have experience working with data centers, application managers, and technical IT operations and management.
  • Be a Proactive / Self Motivated.
  • Be Customer Focused with strong negotiation skills and the ability to work and coordinate maintenance windows.
  • Experience assessing risk, impact, and outage intervals for implementation and changes to the network.
