Brief Description of Duties / Minimum Requirements: This position is located in Fairfield, CA and relocation assistance is not available. Approximately 20-30% travel is expected.

Job Duties:

  • Takes P&ID drawing information and apply to control system design.
  • Writes control system design documentation and testing utilizing GAMP as a guideline.
  • Effectively understands the Instrumentation, systems and Automation Society (ISA) approach for P&ID's.
  • Assist the Project Manager in on-site startup diagnoses and corrects hardware and software problems
  • Monitors project progress on the weekly cost report
  • Keeps schedules and individual tasks within budget and on schedule
  • Specifies instruments, based on process information and company procedures using designated data sheets.
  • Specifies instrumentation and control valves, based on process information and company procedures, using designated data sheets
  • Performs panel layout and electrical design
  • Contributes to testing complexity including those outside existing standards
  • Participates in FATs and SATs
  • Programs basic control system, PLC or DCS functions
  • Programs systems following the S88 approach.
  • Programs basic Operator Interface screens, databases and trends
  • Contributes to the improvement and development of engineering processes and procedures
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in the design and implementation of instrumentation, control system hardware, and control system software. Biotech or Refinery industry experience preferred.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science plus a minimum of two years related work experience or a Masters Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with one year of related experience.
