Hytork®'s "CostSaver" Systems

What Is SafeVision?

Hytork®'s CostSaver is a precision package consisting of the Hytork® Actuator, pad mounted solenoid valve, switchbox, SafeMount stool and conduit kit.  The CostSaver allows for solenoid wire termination inside the Hytork® switchbox, thereby eliminating the need for additional electrical junction boxes, electrical conduit, expensive pneumatic tubing and fittings.  This package also eliminates the need for a coupling between the switchbox and the actuator.  The CostSaver has been designed to be a complete, rugged, efficient and simple to install package requiring only one conduit connection supplied by the customer.

A Comparison

CostSaver Way

Old Way

The CostSaver Way:
  1. The HyVision switch box/junction box
  2. The CATS or BANJO direct mount Solenoid valve range
  3. The COSTSAVER PVC coated flexible steel (galvanised) conduit system
The Way things used to be:
  1. Switch box (no visual indication)
  2. Switch box mounting bracket and screws
  3. Switch box drive adapter
  4. Switch box cable
  5. Switch box cable glands
  6. Junction box
  7. Junction box bracket
  8. Junction box screws
  9. Junction box cable glands
  10. Solenoid valve
  11. Solenoid valve cable
  12. Solenoid valve cable glands
  13. Cable ties
  14. Solenoid valve bracket and screws
  15. Piping
  16. Pipe fittings

The Hytork® CostSaver System Eliminates:

  • Electrical Junction Boxes

  • Multiple Electrical Conduit Runs

  • Expensive and vulnerable pneumatic tubing and fittings

  • Fabricated brackets and couplings to the actuator + solenoid + switch packages

Dramatic Reduction In Maintenance Costs

The considerable reduction in parts and the commonality of the HyVision Switch box and CATS solenoid valves throughout the XL Series Actuator Range means that potential maintenance costs are dramatically reduced.

When mounted to an "XL" Series Actuator a CostSaver System includes:
  • The HyVision switch box/junction box
  • The CATS or Banjo direct mount Solenoid valve range
  • The CostSaver PVC coated flexible steel (galvanised) conduit system
Hytork®'s Valve Automation Centers will assemble and test "CostSaver Systems" to the Hytork® "XL" series of actuators and then to any quarter turn valve to provide you with complete valve automation confidence.
  • Its a Switch Box:
    • That can house up to four switches. (micro switch, proximity switch and reed switches)
  • Its a Visual Indicator with no externally moving parts.
    • Providing the largest visual indication of any switch box on the market. After all why are you purchasing an indicator?  To see it easily and safely!
  • Its a mounting bracket to the XL Series actuator.
    • Eliminates the need for additional brackets and couplings. Cost effective and designed to fit.
  • It's a Position Monitor on Multi-port valves.
    • The visual indicator is set up so that when the actuator operates a multi-port valve the visual indicator shows the flow of the fluid passing through the valve.
  • Its an Electrical Junction Box.
    • With up to three separate conduit entries, and sufficient terminals to easily wire four switches and two solenoids, the HyVision switchbox eliminates the expense and need for a separate junction box.

HyVision
The Heart Of The CostSaver System

How Do You Connect?

Air Supply
  • Single Air Connection
    • Both the CATS and Banjo solenoid valves mount directly on the actuator eliminating all brackets and piping except the air supply.

Electrical Supply

  • Switch and solenoid wiring made easy
    • The HyVision switch box is also your Electrical Junction Box. The solenoid valve wires pass through the furnished flexible conduit, which connects into one M20 HyVision conduit entry, and terminates on the internal terminal strips. Solenoid mains power and switch wiring (up to 4 independent switches) pass through the second M20 conduit entry to quickly complete the necessary wiring. You save both the cost of expensive additional conduit runs and the labour to install them.
  • Corrosion Protection with the CostSaver
    • The CostSaver/CATS solenoid combination prevents dirty corrosive ambient air from entering spring return actuators without pressurising the spring chambers.  (See CATS page)
  • Small Actuator CostSaver
    • For small Xl actuators up to size XL185, in clean environments, a Banjo Mount solenoid can be used with the CostSaver to further minimise costs.
  • Dual Coil CostSaver
    • For dual coil or dual solenoid applications, an optional third M20 conduit entry is provided in the HyVision switch box. The second furnished flexible conduit is connected to this entry for wire termination inside.

Quality Assurance From The Valve Automation Center

This Hytork® product is Quality Assured Registered management systems to ISO 9001.  This Quality Hytork® product is one of many valve automation products that are stocked, ready for installation as part of an engineered valve automation package at HYTORK®'S VALVE AUTOMATION CENTER.

It is the professional center for valve automation packages. Packages that are designed and assembled from a host of stocked accessories.

These include:

  • Aluminium, SG Iron and specific application actuators
  • Position monitoring switches and sensors
  • High visibility visual indication switch enclosures
  • Cost Savers
  • Manual Override Gearboxes
  • Positioners
  • Hytork® solenoid valves

All these standard Valve Automation products, assembled to a dimensioned CAD drawing, which can accompany the package for your complete documentation requirements.

A
proven source for quality automation (ISO 9001) of all your 1/4 turn valve and damper requirements.

A typical process plant will have many types and manufacturers of 1/4 turn valves, with different Actuators, different Switches,
different Solenoids, different Positioners and Brackets that are neither engineered nor consistent from one order to the next.

HYTORK'S VALVE AUTOMATION CENTER provides engineered similarity throughout your plant, lower spares, simplified installation, maintenance, documentation and easily trained technicians with overall reduced costs.

This service is also available from approved
Hytork® Distributors - for details telephone Hytork®.
