Matrix Key:

  • Valve Operation
    This indicates the type of valves that can be automated by the valve actuator, where:

    R = Rotary Quarter-Turn (90°) Valves
    L = Linear Rising Stem Type Valves
    L-API = Linear API Valves
  • Required Services
    This indicates the type of supply that the actuators require, where:

    E = Electrical
    P = Pneumatic
    H = Hydraulic
    HPG = High Pressure Pneumatic or Natural Gas
    N2 = Nitrogen (all pneumatic actuators are suitable for use with nitrogen)
    None = No external supplies are required
  • Fail Action
    This indicates whether the actuator is double-acting (requires supply pressure to open and close the valve) or spring-return (requires supply pressure to either open or close the valve and uses a spring to return), where:

    DA = Double-Acting
    SR = Spring-Return
  • Torque/Thrust Mechanism
    This indicates the primary mechanism used to generate the output torque or thrust of the actuator, where:

    EM = Electric Motor
    R&P = Rack & Pinion
    SY = Scotch Yoke
    D = Diaphragm
    PN = Piston
  • Torque Range
    This is an approximate guide to the torque output range of the actuator series.
  • Thrust Range
    This is an approximate guide to the thrust output range of the actuator series.
